Our first day in the Serengeti was amazing. We were incredibly lucky. We first started the drive off with a mama and baby giraffe before getting to witness the Great Wildebeest Migration. Thousands and thousands of wildebeest as far as the eye (with or without binoculars) could see! They all ran around in what seemed to be absolute chaos – and there we were – in the middle of a natural phenomenon.
Upon entering Serengeti National Park, we saw our first lions – four of them, two couples – and quickly learned it was mating season. The males were younger, as their manes were not fully grown and still a lighter shade of orange. They also do it up to 70 times a day!! SEVENTY!
wish i could comment directly to the picture of the lions gettin in on so i can show my enthusiasm for the captured moment. :)
