on the first day of the new year, we went to wynand fockink, a distillery that has been in amsterdam since 1679, to enjoy some jenever, dutch gin, in a bunch of different flavors - apple, espresso, vanilla, fig...
we just chose this place to meet up with john and nicole and turns out that tastings are free on new years day! felt kind guilty when we found out since we were waiting outside for them to open (because we were freezing our buns off) and realized that the nice bartenders probably assumed we were just eager, cheap asains tryin to get our free drinks...
if you're ever traveling to amsterdam, this place is worth a visit
you get to see the distillery and cute lil liquor store. the tasting room itself is very gezellig!
